Color Throwdown Challenge - #453

Sunday, July 30, 2017

Happy Sunday!    Hope you have had a wonderful weekend.  Yesterday I had the house to myself pretty much all day and I spent the day crafting away!   Woot! Woot!   I made several cards that I will share over the next few weeks.     I was able to squeeze one in today and made this for the Color Throwdown Challenge.   The colors were pink, green and yellow.    Beautiful color combo and I just got my Reverse Confetti order and had ordered the Toucan of Friendship stamp set that was perfect for this challenge!

I started off and used Twisted Citron Distress ink and used the smoothing method to put it on some watercolor cardstock.   I layered it several times to be sure to get some fine areas of color.

I stamped and colored the images with Copic Markers and then cut them out.

I added some details with my Sakura gels pens one with a sparkle and the other a white gel pen.

I stamped the sentiment from Simply Sentiments and white heat embossed it on black cardstock.

My Favorite Things - Up in the Air

Thursday, July 27, 2017

I am playing along with the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything goes!    I used the My Favorite Things Up in the Air stamp set and made an interactive card!    I had not made one of these in a while!  I also decided to carry my background forward onto my main panel.

I stamped and colored the image from Up in the Air with Copic markers.    I used the MFT Cloud stencil and used some Distress ink to make my sky background.   I stamped Sour Apple cardstock with my favorite Linen Background stamp inked with Sour Apple ink.    I die cut it with the Stitched Scallop Basic edge die.

I stamped my sentiment with Versamark and then white heat embossed and die cut with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips using Pink Lemonade cardstock.   The channel was created with a Lawn Fawn set and I used MFT's slider elements.   I added Clear Pico Embellisher to the heart banner.

Reverse Confetti - Sketch For You To Try

Wednesday, July 26, 2017

Hey Fetti Friends!   Today I am sharing a card that I made with some of the new release products in the current Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try!    I just loved the set,  No Tomorrow; it is one of my favorites from the release!  I paired it with some of the new patterned paper from the Under the Umbrella 6x6 paper pad.  I love this blue patterned paper and it goes perfectly with the new Island Blue Ink!

I colored the images with Copic Markers and then used the No Tomorrow Confetti Cuts to die cut them.   The dinosaur looks so happy with his party hat, balloons, and triple cupcakes 😃; I decided to pair it with one of the Figure of Speech sentiments in Island Blue ink.  Does it not say it all!

Reverse Confetti - Bear Hugs

Monday, July 24, 2017

I am playing along today with a sketch challenge.   I decided to play this week with CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.   It is hard for me to do clean white cards.   So instead.... I just used a cover plate and kept it pretty simple with the focal image.

I used the Reverse Confetti Bear Hugs stamp set and colored my image with Copic Markers.    I then cut it out with the Flowers for Mom Confetti cuts and layered it with Buttercup and Sand cardstock.   I added some Clear Pico Embellisher to the flower center.

I used the Big Stripes cover panel with some Dark Roast cardstock and layered it onto a Stone A2 card panel.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside instead of the outside and added another image from the stamp set.

My Favorite Things - Happy Hippos

Sunday, July 23, 2017

I am playing in two challenges today, the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge and the Color Throwdown Challenge!    I used the new Happy Hippos from My Favorite Things.   This set is so darn cute.   They look even cuter when they are flying hippos!

I colored with Copic markers and cut them out.    I used the Mini Cloud Edges stencil with Mermaid Lagoon ink on Sno Cone cardstock.    I cut out some Smooth White card stock with the Scalloped and Stitched Basic Edges die and stamped my sentiment from the stamp set in Hybrid Black Licorice ink.

I cut the Stitched Mountain range from some Sour Apple cardstock and stamped with the Tiny Stars Background stamp set in the Sour Apple ink.   I then layered all my images onto the Sno Cone card panel.  I added some details with my White Sakura Gel Pen.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Trifold Card - Reverse Confetti

Friday, July 21, 2017

When I first got started into card making, I was all into making different kinds of cards: gate fold, waterfalls, multiple moving layers, etc....they normally took some time to make and I would spend hours sometimes on one card.   Then eventually, I moved on to just making A2 top fold cards and that has become my staple so to speak.   So I have seen several trifold cards recently and decided to branch out from my A2ness and push myself outside of my comfort zone!  ðŸ˜‚  Yet still keep it to a mailable level........not too far from my comfort zone! 😊

So here is my Trifold card!   It was fun and I needed a lot more images to fill it up and I love coloring images!   However, not so fun to photograph.  I try to take pictures of my cards in natural light.   I have a photo box but I don't get great pictures with it, so I try to use as much natural light as I can.  So excuse the photos!   Maybe I will figure that out next.   If you have any tips, share in the comments please!

I cut a sheet of Bristol cardstock 4 inches by 12 inches and scored into 3 parts at the 4 inch and 8 inch mark.    I stamped images from Unicorn Wishes and Magical Day on some more Bristol cardstock and colored with my Zig markers.     I decided to make it like a storybook scene with my princess making her magical wish for a dragon and unicorn for her birthday!

I am adding this card to this weeks Simon Wednesday Challenge - We're Seeing Stars!

I used the Pierced Rounded Top Layers and cut my hills for each panel from the Under the Umbrella paper pad, that green patterned paper is one of my favorites and I have used mine all up!   I die cut some smaller Pierced Rounded Top Layers out of Premier Polar White cardstock and stamped with Abyss ink using the sentiments from Unicorn Wishes.    I decided to add some die cut stars and I stamped clouds from the Take Flight Stamp set using the Mint ink.   I added some sparkle with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen.   Still will fold flat for mailing in a regular A2 envelope.

   Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
