Reverse Confetti - Sketch For You To Try!

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

I am up today on the Reverse Confetti Blog sharing my card for this month's Sketch For You To Try.   This month's sketch was so much fun because I did two things that I love to do!   I love to color critters and love to make my own background paper with stamps!

I stamped and colored the images from the Paw Prints stamp set and then set them aside while I went to work making my own stamped backgrounds.    I first took the hydrant from the Paw Prints stamp set and stamped it all over a 2 1/2 inch x 4 inch panel of Stone cardstock with Stone ink and added a narrow strip of Salsa card stock.   The background was made from Mist cardstock and stamped with Iced Aqua ink using the Elemental Stripes stamp set.    Even though the pattern was mostly covered up, I still had fun stamping the entire piece.

I used the Lacy Scallop Circle Confetti cut and die cut it with the Premier Polar White cardstock and used some of the patterned paper from Under the Umbrella to break up the white and give my dog and his dog house a little grounding.   I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Monkey Business Stamp set.   I added three small enamel dots in a matching color to complete the sketch!

Be sure to check out the Reverse Confetti Blog today to see what the other Designers came up with for this month's sketch and to link your creation to the challenge!   Thanks for stopping by!

Reverse Confetti - Jen's Birthday weekend and SALE!

Saturday, August 12, 2017

It's Jen's Birthday Weekend and to celebrate she has a birthday present for all her customers!    Jen is giving you 20% on your entire order at the Reverse Confetti Shop now thru Sunday, August 13th!

To celebrate her birthday, I am sharing a birthday card with some new and older products!   I love to look at my stamps and dies in new ways and see ways that I can stretch myself and find a way to look at them in a new way.   For my project I used the recently released Miso Happy and Simply Sentiments along with an older but lovely stamp set, Candles 'n Confetti.   I decided to pair the two together with some stamp masking.

I stamped and masked the party hat from Monkey Business and then stamped and masked the panda from Miso Happy.    I then stamped and masked my cake and built my cake with Candles 'n Confetti set.   I used several stamp colors to make my cake: Piggy Bank, Pistachio and Bumble Bee.   I colored my images simply with Copic Markers and then trimmed out my stamped panel with the Pierced Rounded Top Layers Confetti Cuts.

I selected some patterned paper from the Pattern Play 6x6 paper pad and covered the entire front of an A2 sized card panel with the patterned paper.   Next I used the Stitched Flag Trio and cut out some Piggy Bank and Midnight cardstock and layered in the top right corner of my card.

I struggled with how I was going to put my sentiment on the card.     I went back and forth on what to do because like most of my cards, I create on the fly and sometimes I forget about the sentiment.   I had no clue where to put it and then decided that it would look pretty cool stamped over the cake.      I must have stressed about it for several minutes before finally putting ink to my stamp and holding my breath as I stamped it on the panel!   The sentiment came from the Simply Sentiment stamp set.

Reverse Confetti August Blog Hop!

Tuesday, August 8, 2017

Happy Day 'Fetti Fans!   Welcome to the August Reverse Confetti Blog Hop!  You have hopped to me from the very talented Amy Kolling's blog!

This month all the designers are using the theme "Color Me Mine".   We are picking 2-4 color combinations that we love and sharing them with you.    For my theme I am using the color combination of Flamingo, Blueberry and with a little bit of Stone!   I loved looking over all the colors available and pairing different ones together.  I came up with several combinations and this was one of my favorite combos!

I started by die cutting Premier Polar White cardstock with the Pierced Round Top Layer and stamped with one of the diamond pattern from Elemental Stripes stamp set in Blueberry ink.   I also stamped a sentiment from the Circle Wishes stamp set with Blueberry ink and die cut with the coordinating Confetti Cut.   I used both of the mouse images from the Mouse Mail stamp set and colored them with Copic markers.   I used similar Copic colors to the Flamingo and Stone ink (R30, R32, W00, WC3).

The main card panel was made with Flamingo cardstock and topped with more Flamingo cardstock die cut with the Squared Off Cover Panel.  I used foam tape to lift it off the card base.   I die cut a smaller piece of Stone card stock with the edge of the Round Top Tag and used the scalloped edge to add a little detail to the panel.   I then added a heart die cut from the Stamped Note Confetti Cut set in Flamingo cardstock and covered with my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush and some glossy accents.

I really loved the color combo for for this card and really happy with how it turned out.   It is a perfect card to share happiness with a friend!

Next up on the hop is the wonderful Heather Pulvirenti!

Please make sure that you hop along to see all the wonderful color inspiration that we have to share with you in this hop!
